More than $1 billion worth of property, money and personal belongings stolen from home in Saskatoon

More than a million dollars worth of personal property, $1.1 million in cash and other valuables were stolen from the home of an elderly couple last month, Saskatoon police say.

The stolen items were taken from the family’s home in the town of Cootesdale, on the outskirts of Saskatoon.

Police said the family has a “large number” of belongings in the home and has lived there for more than 40 years.

The incident was first reported by the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour on Thursday, and police are looking into what led to the theft.

The Saskatoon Police Service said officers are now investigating to see if there is any connection between the stolen items and other criminal activity.
